Our Privacy Promise
Glovebox is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your vehicle service history is personal information that should remain under your complete control. That's why we built Glovebox as a 100% local-first application.
Data Storage
All data you enter into Glovebox is stored exclusively on your device:
- Vehicle information (make, model, year, photos)
- Service records (maintenance, repairs, fuel logs)
- Expense data (costs, odometer readings)
- Attachments (receipts, invoices, photos)
This data is saved in local storage on your device using secure, encrypted database technology. No data is ever transmitted to external servers.
No Account Required
Glovebox does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the app. You can start tracking your vehicle's service history immediately upon installation.
No Cloud Sync
We do not offer cloud synchronization. While this means your data won't automatically sync between devices, it also means your information never leaves your control. We prioritize your privacy over convenience features that could compromise your data security.
Device Permissions
Glovebox may request the following permissions:
- Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo of your vehicle or a receipt. Photos are stored locally on your device.
- Photo Library: Used only when you choose to select existing photos for your vehicles or service records.
- File Access: Used only when you choose to attach documents (like PDF receipts) to service records.
These permissions are optional and only activated when you explicitly choose to use these features. The app functions fully without granting any permissions.
Analytics & Tracking
Glovebox does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services. We do not collect:
- Usage statistics
- Crash reports
- Device information
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
Third-Party Services
Glovebox does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs that could collect your data. The app operates entirely offline and independently.
Data Backup & Export
Since all data is stored locally, we recommend regularly backing up your device using your operating system's built-in backup features (iCloud Backup for iOS, Google Backup for Android). This ensures you don't lose your service history if you switch devices.
Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data. To delete all Glovebox data, simply uninstall the app from your device. All stored information will be permanently removed.
Children's Privacy
Glovebox is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since no data is collected at all, this concern does not apply to our app.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we don't collect email addresses, we recommend checking this page periodically for any updates.
